Academic Venues Celebrate M&IT Award Success

VENUEMASTERS, the consortium representing over 80 UK academic venues, is delighted to announce that five of its member venues scooped 12 accolades at the annual M&IT awards. This year's event was held on 22 February at the Novotel London West and is organised by Meetings & Incentive Travel magazine. The event brings together a variety of businesses to measure market reaction in rewarding excellence of services and products.
Warwick Conferences, the conferencing and events arm of the University of Warwick, won an impressive four Gold awards, including Best UK Management Training Centre, Best Academic Venue, Best Value for Money Conference Venue and Best Conference and Banqueting Staff.
Alan Robinson, director of training and conference centres at Warwick Conferences commented: "We're ecstatic to have picked up all four Gold M&IT awards. Dubbed as the industry's ‘Oscars', the awards are voted for solely by event organisers, so we certainly view them as important to our success and credibility.
"To date, we have made significant investments in our facilities and people. Nine out of ten of our customers return to us which is indicative of the quality and pride our people have in their work. It's a fabulous result and great recognition for everyone who has worked so hard to make Warwick Conferences world class."
imago at Burleigh Court fought off competition from the Scottish Exhibition Conference Centre, RBS Williams F1 Conference Centre and Church House Conference Centre to win the Gold award for Best UK Conference Centre. imago also collected Silver awards for Best Conference and Banqueting Staff and Best Academic Venue.
Conference Aston in Birmingham collected a Silver award for Best UK Management Training Centre, a Bronze award for Best Academic Venue and they were also finalists in the Best Conference and Banqueting Staff category.
Keele Conferences took Silver in the Best Value for Money Conference Centre category and a Bronze for Best Conference and Banqueting Staff. Leicester Conferences took Bronze in the Best Value for Money Conference Centre category.
