Broadcasting Place scoops another award
June 2010

Broadcasting Place, Well Met Conferencing in Leeds' newest recruit, has received yet another award, this time for ‘architectural excellence' from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). The landmark building was hailed as 'truly iconic' by the judges at the 2010 ceremony who said it ‘captured the essence of Yorkshire's rugged landscape'.

Earlier this year, Broadcasting Place picked up the accolade of Best Commercial Development 2010 at the Yorkshire Property Awards. It also took third place in Leeds' favourite Building Shortlist and was crowned the winner of the ‘New Building' category in the 2009 Leeds Architecture Awards.

Kate Pitcher, Business Development Manager for Well Met Conferencing said:
"Broadcasting Place is proving to be a fantastic addition to our award-winning venue portfolio and it is clearly a welcome addition for the city. We have had a number of successful bookings since the opening of the venue earlier this year and we have a number of events secured for the months ahead."

Broadcasting Place provides a unique venue for conferences and events, offering a contrasting urban and landscape design with wide open spaces around the buildings. Located in such a key location at the Centre's Civic Quarter Campus, the site is complete with conference facilities for up to 90 delegates including four breakout spaces. Broadcasting Place is ideal for meetings, seminars, conferences and training and is well-served by public transport and car parking facilities.
